Painting Techniques

This course offers a space for both beginning and experienced artists to develop and enhance their artistic skills while enjoying a sense of community and connection. Students will be working on canvas in acrylic and will build technical skills in color mixing, composition, chiaroscuro (light/shadow), proportion, and best practices.

Painting Techniques will be taught by Rob Underwood, who teaches science, art and cooking at EBS. He has been teaching, mostly in art schools like SOTA and OSA, since 2002. Before his work in the field of education, Rob spent 15 years working as an illustrator and graphic designer, after graduating from Pratt Institute in New York. He has been painting for about 35 years, mostly in oil and watercolor. You can see some of his paintings here.

This course will run from 4pm to 5:30pm on the following dates: 10/19, 10/26, 11/2, 11/9, 11/16, and 11/30.
