The East Bay School is seeking students who:

  • Are creative and curious, know what it means to be a good citizen in a school, and have the potential to be successful in our learning environment;

  • Would thrive in our innovative, project-based setting, using it as an opportunity to learn about themselves, be excited about exploring and learning, and challenge themselves to be change agents in our world; and

  • Come from all parts of the East Bay, from both public and private schools and from all different genders, ethnic, racial, socio-economic, family, and religious backgrounds. Equity and belonging are central to the mission of the East Bay School.

EBS offers several opportunities to help you learn more about our school community.

Campus Tours provide a glimpse into our curriculum, culture and campus. Hear from our current students, Head of School, and Director of Student Life.

Virtual Q&A Sessions are informal chats about our program and are designed to be a space for you to ask questions and meet our Head of School.

Complete our online application.

We are currently accepting applications for the 2026-27 school year on a rolling basis.

For families applying for the 2027-28 school year, applications will be available after October 1st.

Our early application deadline for the 2027-28 school year is December 12, 2026 and our standard application deadline is January 22, 2027. Applications submitted after January will be accepted on a rolling basis. Please contact our admissions office to inquire about an application fee waiver if needed. Flexible Tuition applications are due January 22, 2027. More info on Flexible Tuition can be found HERE.

Submit school records. Provide the previous two years’ academic transcripts of your child and at least two teacher recommendations.

Student Shadow Visit / Assessment. Applicants are invited to spend the day on campus getting to know the students, visiting the classrooms, and hearing from student leaders about their experience at EBS.  This will be an interactive day and will include an informal academic assessment. You can sign up for a Student Visit Day in SchoolAdmin.
