After a career as a professional artist, Rob’s plan was to teach at the college level but circumstances and opportunities drew him to middle and high school. He identifies with the students at EBSB because he remembers very well what being a middle school boy was like.

He was also drawn to EBSB because teaching at a single-sex school is a different experience from teaching at a coed school and, having already taught at an all-girls’ school—Carondelet High School in Concord, California—he was intrigued to see how a boys’ school differed. Rob’s favorite part of the school year is the last few weeks, when the students are working on their big culminating projects for the year. In his free time, Rob likes to paint, garden, and design and create 3D models on his computer.
